Old, classic stone buildings with ivy and Virginia creeper climbing on the exterior walls are easy to love.

In cooperation with C3C, we have developed an organic building method in concrete that facilitates the production of new stone buildings.

C3C is a company specializing in reusable concrete. The company uses residual concrete from construction projects throughout Sweden to produce large concrete building blocks that can be used for a variety of purposes, including tall walls. We use these blocks to build both exterior walls and load-bearing interior walls.

The production allows for a variety of surface finishes, making it possible to achieve the right feel and build exterior walls where individual stones can be distinguished, vary and have the right character, similar to the effect of light-coloured limestone blocks. Over the course of a few years, plants will be able to alter the exterior without causing any technical complications, gradually refining the expression.

The buildings have interior organic insulation. By using timber throughout the house, including for joists and interior walls – and generally using wooden products and green roofs – we can produce a robust building with a very small environmental impact.

A key aspect of the architecture in the proposal, which consists of a number of terraced houses and a detached house, is the roof height, which will be over three metres, as in a traditional city flat.

The floor plans have a fairly general in character. The individual buyers have a certain degree of influence on the layout, which basically consists of a ground floor dominated by the kitchen and living rooms but can be converted to include an office or a workshop. The bedrooms are on the upper floor.

The gardens are an important feature. A private oasis in the city. Each plot is framed by hedges. A limited number of trees will planted, and a patio paved with cobblestones will be established. A gate in the hedge will offer passers-by a glimpse of the gardens.
