Beach kiosk

The sandy Ribersborg beach in Malmö is lined with restaurants and kiosks. The area is also home to a popular minigolf centre. When new golf courses were added, the centre needed a new kiosk, primarily to provide players with clubs and balls but also to serve as a summertime bar.

The small kiosk occupies a small space in between the larger main kiosk and a gnarled pine at the edge of the minigolf course. As part of the brief, the pine was to be preserved, and the new kiosk had to be near the entrance to the centre.

The kiosk is made of homogenous, rugged materials. Robust, traditional and burglary-proof. The solid timber comes from a forest in northern Sweden, while the contrasting door and hatches are made of stainless steel.
